The Church, teaching that all the baptised are called to sanctity, guides the process of beatification and canonization of believers who have realised this call in an eminent way. The Pallottines are presently responsible for the causes of canonization of two confreres and of beatification of 16 persons, belonging to the SAC and UAC. The causes of canonization are those of Joseph Jankowski (1910-1941) and Joseph Stanek (1916-1944), priests beatified in 1999. Two causes of beatification are in progress at the apostolic level (Vatican) and the others are at the level of diocese. At the apostolic level are: the cause of Elisabetta Sanna (1788-1857) – collaborator of St. Vincent Pallotti - and that of Joseph Engling (1898-1918) – student of Minor Seminary of the German Pallottines. At the level of diocese the following causes of beatification of confreres from Germany, Poland, Argentina and Cameroon are in progress: - Bishop Heinrich Vieter (1853-1914) - Fr Richard Henkes (1900-1945) - Fr Franz Reinisch (1903-1942) - Fr Franciszek Bryja (1910-1942) - Fr Franciszek Kilian (1895-1941) - Bro Paweł Krawcewicz (1907-1945) - Fr Norbert Jan Pellowski (1903-1942) - Fr Jan Szambelańczyk (1907-1941) - Fr Stanisław Szulmiński (1894-1941) - Fr Pedro Duffau (1908-1976) - Fr Alfredo Kelly (1933 -1976) - Fr Alfredo Leaden (1919 -1976) - Salvador Barbeito, student (+1976) - Emilio Barletti, postulant (+1976). Every process of beatification demands deep investigation on all aspects of life, virtues and, eventually, on martyrdom. This work is done, in the name of the SAC, by the postulators: at the diocesan level by the postulators of the Provinces; at the level of Vatican, by the present Postulator General Jan Korycki SAC. He carries out his tasks in collaboration and under the guidance of the Congregation for the Cause of Saints.
